Many of the small businesses I work with recognise the importance and value of Social Media and want to use it for their business but are often unsure of the best way to do this. They often don’t know which platforms they should be using, what to post, when to post and are also concerned about the amount of time and effort being on Social Media involves.
My advice is always that if you are going to handle the Social Media for your business personally you have got to make it manageable. Focus on one or two platforms that you know your target market is active on. Have a plan with a list of goals of what you want to achieve, refer to these regularly and alter your strategy accordingly. Lastly allocate an hour of your time per day to monitor the Social Media conversations that are going on, be responsive to posts on your profiles and interact with posts on other pages that are relevant to your business as this helps to build credibility and awareness of your brand.
